The 1st Prize Winner of the 8th “Ionel Perlea” International Conducting Competition 2024, also received the Orchestra Prize and special awards from the State Philharmonia Brașov. In 2023, became the inaugural winner of the 1st Romania Conducting Competition, marking a significant milestone in his conducting career.

Infusing the classical music world with fresh energy and innovation, Wooju Baik is the founder and music director of the Universe Philharmonic Orchestra(UPO), an ensemble of young musicians dedicated to passionate and high-quality performances. Through UPO, he has shared the joy of classical music with the public for years, championing individuality and embracing the richness of orchestral repertoire. Recognized for his exceptional leadership and profound musical insight, Wooju was invited to Trevi, Italy, to conduct Le Nozze di Figaro at the XII Edition of the Festival Federico Cesi. An internationally active conductor, he navigates a vast repertoire spanning opera and symphony, captivating audiences worldwide.
